Miho started practicing yoga after resigning from a corporate job in Shanghai, China in 2011. Her first encounter with yoga was in a Shivananda class in Shanghai. She left China after resigning and traveled to Kerala in South India where she started to practice yoga asanas more intensely and was also introduced to Ayurveda. After three months of having started a daily yoga practice, Miho went to her first Ashtanga yoga class. Since then she is practicing the Mysore method and has traveled annually to Mysore, India to learn from her main yoga teacher Sharath R. Jois who gave her level 2 teaching authorization. After receiving this blessing, Miho decided to dedicate herself fully to teaching Mysore Ashtanga yoga after she assisted her teacher Devorah Sacks at her Mysore shala in San Francisco. She started her shala Ashtanga Yoga Berlin Kreuzberg in the Bergmannkiez neighborhood in January 2018.
Miho’s passion is to share the traditional Mysore Ashtanga practice with the tristana method (breath, posture and gaze) to cultivate a healthy body, a lucid mind, to discover the connection between those two, and hence find contentment within.
